4 qt. small beets, cooked
2 c. sugar
12 whole cloves
2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. bark cinnamon
2 c. water
2 doz. cucumbers, sliced
2 green peppers
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1 Tbsp. cloves
2 onions
1/2 c. salt
1 1/2 c. vinegar
1 Tbsp. turmeric
1 1/2 qt. vinegar
3 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. celery seed
11 to 12 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. mixed pickle spice (tied in cloth bag)
Preparation

Mix ingredients, cook to boiling point, then pour over chunk pickles and cover them well.
