Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak or sirloin steak, cut in bite size strips
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
    1 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Brown meat in 1/4 cup butter.
    Add onion and saute until transparent.
    Add tomato sauce and 1 cup water.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Cover; simmer 45 minutes, until meat is tender.
    Add mushrooms.
    Cook until bubbly.
    Add sour cream.
    Heat on low. Don't boil!
    Serve over medium-wide egg noodles.
