Green Bean And Mushroom Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 medium onion
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    1 c. light cream
    3/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    3 pkg. French-style green beans
    1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    3/4 c. almonds, toasted, slivered and blanched
Preparation
    Saute mushrooms and onion in butter.
    Add flour; cook until smooth.
    Transfer to double boiler; add milk and light cream. Stir over boiling water until thickened.
    Add cheese, hot pepper sauce, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
    Stir until cheese is melted.
