Aunt Sarah'S Scalloped Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium size onions
    1 c. diced, cooked celery
    1/4 c. margarine or butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook onions in boiling water slowly and uncovered, about 1/2 hour.
    Drain thoroughly.
    Cook celery the same method; drain. Melt margarine or butter in saucepan.
    Add flour, salt and pepper, stirring until bubbly.
    Remove from heat very slowly.
    Blend in milk.
    Then stir and cook until thickened.
