Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raw shrimp
    6 slices bacon, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch pieces
    1 c. sliced onion
    3/4 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 c. raw rice
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. leaf thyme
    1/8 tsp. paprika
    1 small bay leaf
    2 to 3 dashes hot pepper sauce
Preparation
    May add 1 pint fresh oysters, shucked, or 1 (10 ounce) can frozen, undrained, or diced halibut.
