Slow-Cooked Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 lb. apples, washed, peeled and cored
    3 to 4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook apples in crock-pot on high setting until soft, stirring occasionally.
    Add 3 to 4 cups sugar (depending on sweetness of apples), 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. Cover; cook on high 8 to 10 hours.
    Remove cover during last half of cooking.
    Stir occasionally.
    Makes 11 1/2 pint jars.
