French Toast Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf French bread, cut into 1 to 1 1/2-inch slices
    6 eggs
    2 1/2 c. milk
    dash of nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 stick butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. walnuts or pecans
Preparation
    Layer bread slices in pan 2 layers high.
    Beat eggs with milk. Add nutmeg and cinnamon.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour over slices of bread. Place, covered, in refrigerator overnight.
