Osgood Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 recipe pie crust
2 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. raisins
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
4 egg yolks, beaten
3 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Beat egg whites; set aside. Mix all other ingredients together and then fold in egg whites last. Pour into unbaked pie shell (unless a large 9 or 10-inch shell is used, this will make 2 pies). Bake in slow oven at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The meringue comes to the top and the cinnamon makes it a nice brown topping for the pie.
