Tomato And Garlic Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. canola oil
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes, undrained
    1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
    1 tsp. dried sweet basil
    1 Tbsp. dried oregano
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Heat oil in large saucepan and cook onions until tender and transparent.
    Stir in garlic powder and cook 1 minute.
    Coarsely chop tomatoes in blender and add, along with remaining ingredients, to saucepan.
    Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Yields 3 cups.
    May be used as pizza sauce or over pasta.
