Browned Cream Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. flour
    2 c. heavy cream (half and half can be substituted)
    2 1/4 tsp. salt (less if desired)
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    8 potatoes, boiled or baked, peeled and finely chopped
Preparation
    Melt 4 tablespoons butter in saucepan; stir in flour. Gradually add cream and cook, stirring constantly until sauce bubbles and thickens.
    Add salt, pepper, onion and nutmeg; blend thoroughly.
    Add potatoes to the sauce and mix well.
    Pour into a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish.
    Dot top with remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven about 45 minutes until browned.
    Serves 6 to 8.
