Guest Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry Italian salad dressing mix
    1/4 tsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 lb. stewing beef, cut in pieces
    flour
    4 Tbsp. salad oil
    4 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 medium onion, peeled and quartered
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
    water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Mix salad dressing according to package directions.
    Combine 1/4 cup of the salad dressing with the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
    Marinate beef in the sauce for 3 hours.
    Coat beef lightly with flour and brown in heated salad oil in heavy skillet. Transfer meat to a Dutch oven and top with carrots, onion and mushrooms.
    Add enough water to just cover the meat and vegetables. Cover Dutch oven and bake in preheated 300\u00b0 oven for 3 hours or until beef is tender.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    May serve with hot cooked rice or noodles if you wish.
    Makes 4 to 5 servings.
