Dutch Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar until fluffy; add egg and beat well. Gradually stir in flour, blend well.
    (Dough will be sticky.) Divide in half.
    Place each half in well greased 8-inch square pan.
    With floured hands, press dough into pans.
    Place in cold oven.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes until browned.
    Remove; cut into 2-inch squares while warm.
    Remove and cool.
