French Bread(Makes 6 Loaves) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pkg. dry yeast
    4 1/2 c. very warm water
    12 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    4 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Sprinkle yeast in 1/2 cup water in bowl.
    Mix sugar and salt in 4 cups water.
    Add shortening and yeast and mix well.
    Add flour; mix well.
    Knead until not sticky.
    Place in greased bowl. Turn to grease top.
    Cover.
    Punch down well every 10 minutes for 5 times. Let rest, covered, 10 minutes.
    Shape into loaves by rolling out in rectangular shape.
    Roll into loaves.
    Cut diagonal cuts across top.
    Let rise until double.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
