Pennsylvania Corn Pone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. thick buttermilk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Beat egg; add oil and buttermilk.
    Add dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in a greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet 20 to 25 minutes.
