Mother Mac'S "Kottbullar"(Swedish Meatballs) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 lb. sausage
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/4 tsp. allspice (ground)
    small onion
    3 or 4 whole allspice
Preparation
    Put crumbs in large bowl.
    Cover with hot water.
    Let stand a few minutes.
    Mix in remaining ingredients, except onion.
    Form into balls.
    Meanwhile, slice onion into a little oil in skillet; brown.
    Remove onion and add meatballs and brown.
    Return onion to meatballs in skillet; add water and 3 or 4 whole allspice.
    Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.
    Makes its own natural gravy. Allspice is the secret to the flavor.
    (I usually double this recipe.)
