Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Ritz cracker crumbs
    1/4 lb. butter
    3- 15 oz. cans asparagus
    4 T. butter
    3 T. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1- 5 oz. jar Old English cheese spread
    salt and pepper
    slivered almonds
Preparation
    Cream cracker crumbs and 1/4 lb. butter.
    Line bottom of 9x5 in baking dish with one half of creamed mixture.
    Drain asparagus and arrange over crumbs.
    Make white sauce with 4 T. butter, flour, and milk.
    Add cheese, salt and pepper.
    Pour over asparagus and top with remaining crumbs, and slivered almonds. Bake 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
