Mother'S Flour Tortillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    hot water (1 to 1 1/4 c.)
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Blend in shortening.
    Pour in hot water and
    mix
    to
    a
    stiff dough.
    Knead on slightly floured breadboard\tuntil
    soft
    and pliable.
    Cover dough with mixing bowl and allow to rest for about 30 minutes.
    Preheat griddle. Form
    dough balls into biscuit-sized balls.
    Roll out thin and bake
    on
    ungreased
    griddle.
    Turn
    tortillas
    when
    top side begins to show some puffiness or blisters.\tTurn to other side and cook until lightly brown.
    Keep covered in bread basket.
