Fachi Di Vechia - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can anchovies or sardines, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 can tomatoes, lightly drained and mashed (optional)
    salt, pepper and oregano to taste
    olive oil
    generous amount of Romano grated cheese
Preparation
    Pat part of the
    homemade
    bread (dough recipe follows) out about 1 inch thick onto
    a
    large
    cookie sheet with sides which has been well oiled
    with
    olive
    oil.
    Push
    some holes down in the dough so topping will sink into dough as it bakes. Let dough rise in warm
    place
    until
    double
    in
    size, 1 to 2 hours.
    Bake at 350\u00b0
    for
    30
    to
    35 minutes.
    (Note:
    Frozen loaves of bread may be used.)
