Spicy Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick rolled oats
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. soft margarine (1 stick)
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oats; cover and set aside.
In mixing bowl, gradually add sugar to batter, creaming well.
Beat in vanilla and eggs.
Add oat mixture to egg mixture; mix well.
Sift together remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Frost with Lazy Daisy Frosting.
