Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    2 c. raw peanuts
Preparation
    Cook sugar, corn syrup and water until thermometer reaches 236\u00b0.
    Add peanuts and cook slowly until thermometer reaches 294\u00b0. Remove from heat and add soda and salt and mix well.
    Pour into well-buttered jelly roll pan.
    When cool, break into pieces. Yields 1 1/2 pounds.
