Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    ??? lb. apples
    6 c. cider or apple juice
    3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Core and quarter unpeeled apples into 4 to 6-quart pot or Dutch oven.
    Cook until very soft.
    (Can be cooked in crock-pot or slow cooker.)
    Press through food mill.
    Boil 30 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Add sugar and spices.
    Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
    Boil gently.
    Stir frequently until desired thickness.
    Carefully put hot butter into hot jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
    Adjust lids.
    Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes.
    Makes about 8 pints.
