Refrigerator Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c bran cereal (like all bran)
    2 c boiling water
    1 c butter
    1 1/2 sugar
    4 eggs
    1 qt buttermilk
    5 c all purpose flour
    5 tsp soda
    1 tsp salt
    4 c additional cereal
Preparation
    Place first 2 cups cereal in bowl, add boiling water. Set aside to cool. In a large bowl cream together butter, sugar, and eggs. Add buttermilk and soaked bran mixture, beat well. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to buttermilk mixture and stir until flour is mixed in. Stir in the additional 4 cups cereal. Store batter in tightly covered container in refrigerator, for up to 3-4 weeks.
