Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. thin sliced cukes
    6 medium or 3 large onions, diced
    3 cloves garlic, diced
    1 green pepper
    1 red pepper, cut thin
    1/3 c. cracked ice
    3 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Cover sliced cukes, onions, garlic, green pepper and red pepper with cracked ice and mix well.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Drain well.
    Add vinegar, sugar, turmeric and celery seed.
    Cook.
    Boil good.
    Put in jars and boil in water bath for 5 minutes.
    Makes 5 pints.
