Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2/3 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Stir shortening to soften.
Stir in dry ingredients.
Add bananas and half the buttermilk.
Mix until all flour is damp. Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
Add remaining milk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes longer.
Fold in nuts.
Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Bake about 30 minutes.
Let cake cool completely.
