One Foot In The Fire Fudge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. water
2 (10 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
2/3 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine water and chocolate.
Cook over low heat; stir constantly until melted.
Remove from heat and cool.
Cream shortening.
Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each.
Combine flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk.
Start and end with mixture.
Add chocolate mixture and vanilla; mix until well blended.
Pour into three greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 17 to 19 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool completely on racks.
Spread with fluffy white filling between layers. Chocolate on top and sides.
