Date And Nut Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. xxxx sugar
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. broken pecan meats
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Add salt to egg whites.
    Beat to a stiff foam. Add sugar, sifted with flour, one tablespoon at a time.
    Continue beating until dry and stiff. Fold in nut meats and dates.
    Add vanilla. Drop from teaspoon on aluminum foil or unwaxed paper, 1/2 teaspoon in rounds. Bake in slow oven at 300\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Turn over aluminum foil and cool.
    Peel off. Store in tin box.
    Yields over 2 dozen.
