German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    4 small onions
    1 lb. bacon
    1 c. cider vinegar
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Slice bacon into small pieces and brown.
    Saute onions with bacon.
    Remove approximately 1/2 cup grease.
    Combine vinegar and sugar in 1 bowl, water and cornstarch in another.
    Boil potatoes until tender (do not overcook).
    Cool, peel and slice.
    Mix potatoes with bacon and onion mixture.
    Pour liquid mixtures over potatoes; heat to thicken.
