Mexican Tostados - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    cayenne pepper to taste
    dash of black pepper
    1 pkg. (12) corn tortillas
    refried beans
    shredded lettuce
    chopped fresh tomato
    grated Cheddar cheese
    salsa (hot, medium or mild)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Combine beef, half the onion and garlic in a frying pan and brown.
    Remove fat.
    Add tomato paste and seasonings; simmer 20 minutes.
    Bake tortillas 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp.
    Keep warm.
    To serve, place tortillas on individual plates, 2 to 3 per person.
    Pass bowls of meat, beans, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese and salsa.
    Serves 4 to 6.
