Sopaipillas (Spanish Fried Biscuit Puffs) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    2/3 c. lukewarm water
    oil (for frying)
    honey or sugar and cinnamon
Preparation
    Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal.
    Gradually add the water, stirring with a fork (dough will be crumbly).
    Turn onto lightly floured
    board or surface; knead into a smooth ball.
