Old Time Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Pour
boiling water over shortening.
Add sugar, molasses
and beaten egg.
Beat thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients.
Mix until smooth. Pour into greased 8-inch square cake pan. Bake in moderate oven, 350\u00b0, for about 35 minutes.\tServe alone or with a frosting.
