Tom Thumb Cookie Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 tsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 c. shredded coconut
Preparation
    Combine the 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup brown sugar and cream thoroughly.
    Blend in the cup of sifted flour.
    Spread mixture in a greased 8 x 12 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until delicately browned.
