French Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. stew meat, trimmed
    3/4 pkg. creaming onions or 1 large can creaming onions
    1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
    1 (No. 2) can tiny green beans, drained
    1 (No. 2) can small peas, drained
    1/2 c. wine or sherry
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 bay leaf
    1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt and pepper (to taste)
    2 large carrots
    1/2 can beef consomme
    4 Tbsp. Minute tapioca
    1/2 c. prepared bread crumbs
Preparation
    Mix.
    Put in oven, covered, at 250\u00b0 and cook for at least 6 to 7 hours.
    Takes about 25 minutes to prepare ingredients. Trim fat from meat. Do not open while cooking.
    Serve over wild rice or noodles. Serves 4 to 6 people.
