Plum Kuchen - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar, divided
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    12 Italian prune plums
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream butter or margarine with 1/2 cup of the sugar.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Add extracts.
    Beat well.
    Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Blend into creamed mixture.
    Spoon into greased round 9-inch cake pan 2 inches deep.
    Cut plums in half.
    Arrange cut side down on top of batter.
    Mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Sprinkle over plums.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
