Apricot Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 (3 oz.) orange jello
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 small jars baby food apricots
    1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
    1 (9 oz.) Cool Whip
    pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Combine pineapple, jello and sugar and dissolve over low heat. Blend in cream cheese with fork.
    (Do not use mixer.)
    Add apricots and fold in Cool Whip and pecans.
    Chill.
