Sauerkraut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening or butter
    3 eggs
    1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cocoa
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. sauerkraut, chopped, rinsed and drained
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs.
    Mix well. Add vanilla, salt and cocoa and mix.
    In separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
    Add dry ingredients and water, a little at a time, to the first bowl and mix.
    Mix in the sauerkraut.
    Bake in a greased 9 x 13 cake pan for 35 to 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Use your favorite cream cheese frosting.
