Drunken Wieners - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. whiskey
    1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 small onion, diced (optional)
    green or red sweet pepper, diced small (optional)
    3 lb. party sausages or party wieners
Preparation
    The night before:
    Combine whiskey, chili sauce, brown sugar, onion and peppers.
    Bring to a boil and let simmer for about 1 hour.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    About 3 hours prior to serving, put sausages in crock-pot and pour sauce over.
    Heat until sauce cooks through meat (about 3 hours).
