Irish Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. lamb
    8 potatoes
    4 turnips
    4 small onions
    2 c. green peas
    2 c. lima beans
    4 c. water
    4 sliced carrots
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Chop vegetables and lamb.
    Place them in stew pan in alternating layers of vegetables and meat.
    Add salt, pepper and water.
    Cover pan and cook slowly until the greater part of the gravy is absorbed and all ingredients are tender.
