My Sister Cindy Lou'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
sugar for tops

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Mix in sifted dry ingredients.
Roll dough on floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut in fancy shapes to appeal to children.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
