Sopaipillas(Mexico) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 1/4 c. scalded milk
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    Cool scalded milk to room temperature. Combine yeast with milk.
    Make a well in center of dry ingredients.
    Add liquid.
    Work into a dough.
    Knead dough 15 to 20 times.
    Let rest for about 10 minutes.
