Stewed Fig Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. whole fresh figs
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water
Preparation

Place all ingredients in a small heavy saucepan.
Over medium-high heat, bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Turn the heat to low.
Cover, simmer, stirring frequently, until figs are tender.
Serve as a compliment to meats, breakfast or dessert dishes.
