Hearty Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. boned pot roast
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can beef broth
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 medium bay leaf
    6 carrots, cut in 2 inch pieces
    4 potatoes, cut in thirds
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    In large heavy pan, brown roast in shortening.
    Pour off fat. Reserve 3/4 cup broth.
    Add remaining broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt and bay leaf to pan.
    Cover and cook over low heat 1 1/2 hours.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add carrots and potatoes.
    Cook 1 hour more or until meat and vegetables are tender.
    Blend reserved broth with flour until smooth.
    Add cinnamon.
    Slowly stir into sauce.
    Cook until thick.
