Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    2 c. milk (scalding hot)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Make pastry for 1 crust pie; line pie pan.
    Build up high fluted edge.
    For a 9-inch pie, beat eggs, then add sugar, salt, nutmeg, hot milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla, if desired.
    Pour into pastry-lined pan.
    Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven for 15 minutes, then turn oven down to 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Bake just until silver knife inserted 1-inch from side of filling comes out clean. Center will look soft, but will set later.
