Yellow Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream the sugar, shortening and eggs.
    Add baking powder to flour; stir to blend.
    Add blended dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla (beginning and ending with dry ingredients).
    Pour into 2 greased wax paper-lined 9-inch layer cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
    Cool on racks for 5 minutes before removing from pans.
