Homemade Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. Crisco oil
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    4 or 5 c. plain flour
    1/2 to 1 c. flour (for kneading)
Preparation
    In a small bowl, put yeast with lukewarm water; set aside.
    In a large bowl, put the salt, sugar, oil, hot water and cold water. Mix and then add dissolved yeast and water from small bowl.
    Sift a little at a time, the 4 to 5 cups flour, working well with a spoon until all liquid has been absorbed.
    Sift 1/2 to 1 cup flour on table or cabinet top.
    Place dough on floured surface and knead for about 20 minutes.
    Put dough back into bowl.
    Rub top with high grade oil (Crisco).
    Cover with a dry cloth and let rise until at least double in bulk.
