Lizard Tails - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 to 20 large cucumbers
    7 c. sugar
    7 c. water
    7 c. vinegar
    7 tsp. canning salt (not iodized)
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers lengthwise.
    Pack in jars with dill (lots). Combine remaining ingredients.
    Heat to boil.
    Let cool to lukewarm and pour over cukes.
    Put in cold pack.
    Add cold water to cover jars.
    Just bring to boil and remove jars immediately.
