Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    30 small sq. crushed saltine crackers
    1/2 c. melted margarine
    3 c. sliced onions
    1/4 c. margarine
    8 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1/2 c. scalded milk
    3 beaten eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Combine crackers and 1/2 cup melted margarine to make a crust; line a shallow casserole dish.
    Saute onions and 1/4 cup margarine until brown.
    Put onions on top of cracker crust.
    Sprinkle cheese on top of onions.
    (This can be fixed hours ahead.)
