Maude Hyde'S Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. salad oil
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    3 c. chopped fresh apples
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation
    Mix oil and sugar; cream well.
    Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
    Sift flour and dry ingredients together; reserve enough flour to dredge nuts and dates well.
    Add flour to the creamed mixture.
    Add balance of nuts, apples and dates.
    Add vanilla last.
    Batter will be stiff, but apples will supply the moisture.
    Bake in a well-greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or when tested with a pick.
