Homemade Sticky Buns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. butter
    1 large egg
    1 c. packed dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. dark corn syrup
    1 c. pecan halves, chopped
    1/2 c. dark seedless raisins or currants
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    About 4 hours before serving or day ahead, in a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, yeast and 2 cups flour.
    In 1-quart saucepan over low heat, heat 1 1/2 cups water and 1/2 cup margarine or butter until very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0); margarine or butter does not need to melt completely.
    With mixer at low speed, gradually beat liquid into dry ingredients just until blended.
    Increase speed to medium; beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
    Beat in egg and 1 cup flour to make a thick batter; continue beating 2 minutes, scraping bowl often.
    With wooden spoon, stir in 2 1/4 cups flour to make a soft dough.
