Spicy Rice(Yields 6 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. hot Italian sausages
    1 Tbsp. paprika
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. rice
    3 c. hot water
    20 oz. pkg. frozen peas and carrots
Preparation
    Slice sausages crosswise into bite-sized chunks and brown in large, heavy bottomed pot.
    Add seasonings and rice.
    Mix well to coat rice.
    Add water; mix and bring to boil.
    Add frozen vegetables and leave on top of rice.
    Cover; lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Check pot.
    If rice isn't completely done, continue cooking for 5 to 10 more minutes, adding hot water if necessary to keep pot from scorching.
    When rice is done, or very nearly so, remove from heat.
    Fluff with fork to mix in vegetables, then cover and let set for at least 5 minutes before serving.
