Chocolate Cake Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
1 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
4 to 6 Tbsp. cocoa (depending on how chocolate flavor you prefer)
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Place flour, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Put butter, water, shortening and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Mix this with the dry ingredients. Mix together eggs, soda, vanilla and buttermilk.
Add to cocoa mixture.
Mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured 15 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 1-inch pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Begin making the icing about 5 minutes before cake is done.
Ice while cake is hot.
